Deprecation notice

Overview

For security reasons, Embold will be deprecating the usage of passwords.
To ensure your data is up to date, we encourage you to change your authentication to utilize the personal access tokens.

What is changing?

Embold will discontinue password authentication from September end (RELEASE 1.8.5.0.). You will have to login to your Git, Github and Azure account using Password Access Token and Bitbucket account using App Password.

Why is Embold deprecating this feature?

Using Password Access Token or App passwords is a more secure way of authentication. GitHub will also be discontinuing password authentication to the API from November, 13^th 2020.

What will happen to my current repositories with this change?

Your current scanned repositories will not be affected by this change. You will only have to edit your Version Control Account (VCA) using your PAT/ app password. We will send you a step by step procedure to make this change closer to the release.
